Haunted houses like Terror on the Fox are scary, but there are a few places in Wisconsin that are SERIOUSLY haunted. This week's center, the second of our three week salute to Samhain, will focus on some of our local ghosts most famous haunts.

Chilton-Walmart

Since 1996, strange occurrences have been taking place at the Walmart in Chilton. Some occurrences include: clothing and toys flying off of shelves, muddy footprints appearing on clean floors and stereo's turning off and on to random channels. There have been numerous unexplained electrical problems, most involving the security system reporting movement when the store is empty. There are also cold spots, mist, fog and shadow activity throughout the store. The store was built on an old family homestead which contained a family graveyard. Though the graves were exhumed and bodies moved, certain graves of older family members were not marked. Therefore, their restless spirits are now considered to be haunting the store.

Wisconsin has its very own werewolf known as the Beast of Bray Road. The first witnesses to go public saw the creature on Bray Road outside Elkhorn, Wis. in the late 80s. However sightings of the creature date back to the early 30s and sightings have occurred elsewhere throughout southern Wis. as recently as a few months ago. The Beast has spawned a book and movie as well.
