Kelly Clarkson has come out from the dark shadows of her slightly disappointing album, "My December," and brought back the Clarkson fans love with an upbeat, feel-good vibe on her newest album, "All I Ever Wanted," which is set to be released March 10. This time around, Clarkson turned to producer/writers, Dr. Luke and Max Martin, who have written for artists such as Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne. The album also includes a track written by the newest "American Idol" judge, Kara Dioguardi. The result of this collaboration is already looking promising. Clarkson's first single off the album, "My Life Would Suck Without You," has received a positive response from fans. According to her official Web site, "My Life Would Suck Without You" was the number one selling song on iTunes, after it was available for less than 24 hours. Clarkson's single also made it to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, and experienced the biggest jump in the chart's history over the course of one week, according to her official Web site. The single is about a couple whose lives together are dysfunctional, but as Clarkson puts it, would suck without each other. The song, which is unmistakably pop, still has a bit of a rock edge, comparable to the sound Clarkson gave fans with one of her biggest hits, "Since U Been Gone." Tracks on the album target a variety of audiences. In true Kelly Clarkson fashion, she sings tracks which have an empowering feel for her female audience. On her track, "I Do Not Hook Up," Clarkson sings, "Oh no, I do not hook up. I go slow, so if you want me I don't come cheap." Clarkson turns from her fun-loving side, and shows her softer side on the track titled "Cry." In an interview with Popeater, Clarkson said this was the most personal track on the album, which is about betrayal. On this track, she sings about a break-up that's hard to move on from. The emotions she experiences in the song are familiar to many college students as she sings, "If anyone asks, I'll tell them we both just moved on. When people all stare I'll pretend that I don't hear them talk. Whenever I'll see you, I'll swallow my pride and bite my tongue. Pretend I'm OK with it all. Act like there's nothing wrong." When asked by Popeater to describe her newest album, Clarkson said, "There's some really fun stuff on here that I've never done before - like this one song I did with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic called "If I Can't Have You." It's very like Eurythmics meets the Killers -- very different for me. It's a lot sexier. People think it's so funny because they know I'm not that girl." Clarkson also said her album has a range of different sounds, saying that when every song on an album sounds the same, it feels like a waste of money. Clarkson has also communicated her thoughts about the album to her fans through her blog at iamkelly.wordpress.com. About "All I Ever Wanted," Clarkson wrote, "I'm ready for y'all to hear this album! I'm so proud of it! I've had so much fun with this album I really hope y'all dig it."
