It's that time of year again when the Fourth Estate staff bids goodbye to its graduating seniors, but not without embarrassing them a bit before they go. Leaving this semester is Fourth Estate's fearless leader, Rachel Rivard. After four semesters, Rivard clawed her way from News reporter to the editor of the News section. She finishes her college career as the editor-in-chief and hopes to use her journalistic talents in the Green Bay area. Business Manager, Alicia Jahnke, will also be walking across the big stage this month. After shadowing the business manager for a year under the title of junior assistant business manager, the transition to upper management was seamless. Jahnke has kept Fourth Estate well above water; it's possible she could sell contacts to the blind. After a strategic role reversal, Brandon Selissen will also be leaving Fourth Estate. Before serving as advertising manager, Selissen held the position of business manager working above Jahnke. Sports took on a new editor this semester. Scott Kirst, an avid sports fanatic, had previously served the paper as a sports reporter in the fall of 2008 and quickly moved up, taking over the section in spring. Outside of his "Worst to Kirst" column, Kirst co-hosted The Double Team radio show on WGBX with Ryan Fantozzi. Also, after four semesters with the 4e, the paper's flyin' Hawaiian, LeiLani Richards is saying adios. Richards, who started as a life section writer in the fall 2007, found her niche as editor of the life section this year. Her addition of the Fourth Perspective commentary to Life quickly became one of the most read sections of the paper. Finally, the paper's Jack-of-all-trades, Tim Maylander will be graduating this semester. He takes with him the knowledge and talent of an Opinion writer, Opinion editor, managing editor and web master. These six individuals are leaving the incoming staff with large shoes to fill. Speaking for the new Fourth Estate staff ... we won't let you down.
