‘The Walking Dead’ brings its best in finale

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is known for its stellar season premieres and finales. The recent season 4 finale was no exception.

Spoilers ahead.

Airing March 30, the season finale brought together most of the survivors who were separated after the explosive mid-season finale in February. The smaller groups that were formed shortly after have since been trying to get to an apparent safe haven, Terminus.

As the groups converge near Terminus, the tension turns up. Lives are lost, groups are broken and people are forever changed.

After the finale, there is no question that Rick will never be the same man again, leaving fans hoping that he will return to his old badass ways. In probably the most shocking moment of the season, Rick does the unbelievable to save his son Carl (Chandler Riggs, “Get Low,” 2009).

That one scene alone could make the finale great, but the entire episode is golden. The episode has everything from fantastic character development to the gory action sequences that “Walking Dead” fans love.

It even contains a huge plot twist that, although a bit predictable, is absolutely entertaining. The episode ends with a cliffhanger that sets up the next season perfectly. It definitely leaves viewers wanting more, but it doesn’t leave them feeling cheated.

This is by far one of the best episodes of the series, and ratings show it. The finale brought in a record number of viewers, and it showed that the best is still yet to come for “The Walking Dead.”
